Preventive
mediation refers to a variety of tools available to labour management groups
who are concerned that their relationship is deteriorating and want to
get it back on track. Depending on the nature of the problem, any one or
combination of programs may be helpful in getting the relationship to where
the parties want it to be. These may include Relationship by Objectives,
Joint Committee Effectiveness Training, Dispute Resolution Training or
mediation assistance to clear up grievance backlogs.
The process begins with a consultation where you and your labour or management counterparts discuss the state of the relationship and issues that are making it difficult to get along. Based on these discussions, the mediator makes an assessment and recommendations as to what services may be beneficial. The decision to proceed beyond this point is up to you and there is no obligation or charge for services if the parties choose not to proceed. If you are concerned about the state of your labour-management relationship and would like to talk about the possibilities, call us - you've got nothing to lose and a lot to gain. |
